Sony To Launch PS4 In Japanese And Asia Pacific Market In Late December
Our sources in Japanese market report that Sony is planning to launch PS4 in Japanese and Asia Pacific market during “last week of December”. When asked about the exact launch date our source on the term on anonymity told us that PS4 will be launched in Japanese and Asia Pacific market near Christmas. However, we didn’t get an exact launch date of the next generation gaming console. Sony declined to comment on this report.
Earlier this week, Sony announced the launch date of their next generation gaming console in U.S and European market at Gamescom. PS4 will be launched in U.S market on 15th November and the console will hit the shelves on November 29th in European markets. The price of the console in Japanese and Asia Pacific market is still a mystery, we’re still unaware of the price tag which Sony will offer in aforementioned markets.
This report also falls in line with a previous report of DigiTimes which also claimed a late December launch time frame.
Having announced its PlayStation 4 (PS4) will be released in North Ameirca on November 15 and in Europe on November 29, Sony is expected to introduce the games console in Japan and Asia Pacific countries in late December, sources from channel retailers have speculated.
Microsoft is also set to launch Xbox One in 13 countries during the same November timeframe. Microsoft is planning to launch their console in 8 other countries in first quarter of 2014. The exact launch date and price tag of Xbox One is yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
The company is expecting a good sales figure in holiday time period because that’s ideal time to launch any new product. It is important to note here that the sentiment analysis of public in favor of Sony. If you do a little comparison of the on-going chatter, you will see a good number of people talking positive about the upcoming console and are willing to make a purchase soon after its launch in the market.
Sony also announced a price slash in PS Vita, PS Vita is now available in North American and European market at a very reasonable price tag of $199.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia is set to host a press conference on September 9, announcing the launch schedule for the region.
